This has been a wild ride, and we’re so excited to be sharing beer with the world soon. We’re still under construction at 284 Broadway, and probably will be for the next few months, but we’ve got equipment in the building, beer recipes ready to rumble, and a basement full of merchandise, glassware, and other goodies just waiting to move in. Our is hope to be brewing by early May and pouring pints by mid-June.
And once we open, our goal is to make beer that you’ve never had anywhere else (or at least that you can’t find very easily), but beer that is still drinkable and enjoyable. We want to use tradition as a launching point, and add complexity and depth with our choice of yeast and ingredients. Expect to see a lot of Brettanomyces fermentations, a lot of sour, a lot of funk, and a lot of fun. We hope that this way when you see the name Lamplighter on a menu or label, you’ll have a good idea that you’re in for something creative and delicious.
